چکیده
Finding alternatives to natural resources is important for a sustainable future and essential infrastructure projects. Among these replacements the use of coffee waste as soil stabilizers. Coffee husk ash (CHA) solid obtained by processing beans on farm or factory. The main aim this study determine geotechnical properties clay treated with CHA develop low-cost, environmentally friendly alternative composition. Laboratory tests were conducted investigate influence physical mechanical clay. concentration was adjusted from 5% 25% dry weight in increments. classification mixture becomes coarser following addition CHA. At CHA, peak UCS 130.83 kN/m2 measured compared untreated 89.17 kN/m2. In addition, cohesion values internal friction angles 0% increased 80.1 148.7 16.1° 25.8°, respectively. It found that can improve strength forming pozzolanic hydration process fills voids binds particles together.

متن کاملA mathematical model for optimization of strength of concrete: A case study for shear modulus of Rice Husk Ash Concrete
Rice Husk Ash (RHA) is natural Pozzolan containing reactive silica and/or aluminum. When the material is mixed with lime in powdered form and in the presence of water, it will set and harden like cement. This work uses Osadebe’s optimization model to optimize the shear modulus of concrete made from RHA. The strengths predicted by the model are in good agreement with their corresponding experime...
متن کاملClay Improvement with Burned Olive Waste Ash
Olive oil is concentrated in the Mediterranean basin countries. Since the olive oil industries are incriminated for a high quantity of pollution, it has become imperative to solve this problem by developing optimized systems for the treatment of olive oil wastes. This study proposes a solution to the problem. Burned olive waste ash is evaluated for using it as clay stabilizer. In a laboratory, ...
متن کاملShear Strength of Soil
One of the most important and the most controversial engineering properties of soil is its shear strength or ability to resist sliding along internal surfaces within a mass. The stability of a cut, the slope of an earth dam, the foundations of structures, the natural slopes of hillsides and other structures built on soil depend upon the shearing resistance offered by the soil along the probable...
متن کاملSoil Stabilization using Rice Husk Ash and Cement
Soil stabilization has become a major issue in construction engineering and the researches regarding the effectiveness of using industrial wastes are rapidly increasing. The present experimental work briefly describes the suitability of the locally available Rice Husk Ash (RHA) to be used in the local construction industry in a way to minimize the amount of waste to be disposed to the environme...
